Each player starts with nine pieces and places one counter on the board at a time on the intersections. If a player succeeds in placing three pieces in a line (called a “mill”) they then remove one of their opponents pieces. When each player has placed all
nine of their counters on the board each player in turn may move a counter along a line to an adjacent intersection. If this move creates a mill they remove an opponents piece. The winner is the player who leaves their opponent with less than three counters on the board. |
