When discussing people of the past the subject of battle and violence is often unavoidable.

It can however be handled in a way that tries not to glorify the subject and this is the approach I prefer to take.

War is demonstrated to be only a tiny part of the lives of our ancestors and perhaps the least interesting.

It’s about Living History not Dying History.

In school presentations give opportunities that are rarely matched in museum environments.

Here a group of school children are taking advantage of a handling and drawing session to feel the pelt of a real wolf.

Our forbears used fur more than would be accepted today. This issue is dealt with by discussing how attitudes have changed towards animal welfare.

(Any skins used in presentations are from reputable legal sources. Conservation of wildlife is important to us all.)

Most of the school talks are targeted to the subjects of the National Curriculum but special sessions can be provided to compliment local history studies as in this case in Gloucestershire.

These presentations are under constant development to remain up to date with the latest findings and research.
